Two HIV-positive men were found to be free of detection following adult stem cell bone marrow transplants.
Eight months after the transplant doctors say they could not find HIV in either of the two Boston patients.

In the latest  half truths and sleight of hand, it seems we again find curious responses and willful dishonesty from the artful dodger and his ministry of propaganda.

White House spokesman Jay Carney refused to state the US position on the location of Israel’s capital during a press briefing, Thursday, despite several requests for clarification from a pair of reporters.

Congress in 1995 passed a law recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and stating that “the United States Embassy in Israel should be established in Jerusalem no later than May 31, 1999.

Obama refuses to do so.

But he claimed he would….. back in 2008 as a candidate.

Why would they refuse to say  their position ?

forever is this moment

alone together

She was heartbroken. In a naive and sincere way. The semester was over and it was time to say goodbye. To Some, goodbye forever. To some, so long until we meet again. Wrought with emotion and the bittersweet joy of camaraderie. I haven’t seen it from her before. The one who has been aloof and above youthful frivolity. It was honest and raw and this was overwhelming to her. The last month in the company of strangers,  strangers became kindred spirits. Some from exotic places in south America and  small Mississippi towns named after Hungarian revolutionaries. These souls of disperate cultures connected , meeting as strangers and now parting as beloved friends.  Her life was changed by the experience. I can see it and feel it. It was worth 6 college hours but the education is priceless. Her life is full of promise and grand designs.

She was brokenhearted. In a melancholy and resigned way. The old woman desperate to maintain a connection to family long passed and family long disengaged. She has cancer and a broken wrist. She is both bitter and vulnerable at the same time. Her oldest daughter and that daughters’ youngest son conspire to steal from her. She knows they steal from her but she is too ashamed to talk about it. What modest success fate has blessed her with is often unnoticed. It seems each day she drags emotional trauma behind her like a plow.  We ride for 6 hours, mostly in silence. We meet 18 years ago when I was the new boyfriend to her youngest daughter. Today I part as her only living son. Her reality is tragic from her experiences. I can see it and I can feel it. Her life is difficult and joyless.

And there; In the gap between past and future, I swap travel partners.

well, we know he likes the $ from the producers of gay porn.

The president thanked a man named Terry Bean for organizing the reelection campaign fundraiser he was speaking at.

Terry Bean is a big time gay porn producer.

“Bean, the first gay on Sen. Obama’s National Finance Committee, is the sole  trustee of the Charles M. Holmes Foundation, which owned Falcon Studios, Jock  Studios and Mustang Studios, the producers of about $10 million worth of  all-male pornography a year.”

It was a disgusting story.  On july 10th, a 3 year old was “mugged” in his apartments’ lobby . A  gold chain with a baptism medallion , which was a gift from his godparents, was snatched from the childs neck. The thieves stalked the child and his mother from a distance. Like hyenas, they pounced when the prey was ripe for the taking.

It happened again this week. To a 2 year old this time. Again in brooklyn. The mother is pregnant and was with the child when a gun wielding savage snatched a necklace from the mother and a bracelet off the child. In an elevator.

The brazen lawlessness in these crimes is a mindset rampant in our society. Savages with the ethics of a wolf pack  are stalking and poaching life and treasure from those who appear  weaker . It’s darwinian in the extreme. Just a week ago in Colorado, an evil coward demonstrated this premise with extreme violence upon a vulnerable gathering of movie goers.

We have an obligation to defend ourselves and the civil society has little means to protect us against the many strains of predators who stalk our families.

The police is a reactive response and by it’s nature, too late and after the fact. It is also well known that the police are subjected to the corruptions of the human condition. The police are looking out for the police, not the citizens. Its obvious we cant depend on the police.

Laws are written and applied with mixed effects, at best. By definition, only law abiding citizens obey the law. Those in society who perpetrate the above mentioned crimes dont obey the law so more laws on the books are futile. Its obvious we cant depend on the law.

The buck stops with us. We must be vigilant, be awake and aware. When there is a reasonable chance  that the criminal wont sussceed or even survive an attack, perhaps thats the best deterrent. WE must speak in the native language of those who prey upon us if we are to protect those who rely on us.

Communications breakdown

A man riding a motorcycle around a curvy switchback of a mountain road passes an old girlfriend in a convertible going the opposite way.

As he slows down to  share the hairpin turn , he catches her eye. He waves to her.

She yells “Jackass !!” In a frantic tone as she speeds away.

The man is embarrassed and confused  . Distracted as he makes the  turn , he plows directly into a donkey standing in the road.

“The Four Noble Truths are pragmatic rather than dogmatic. They suggest a course of action to be followed rather than a set of dogmas to be believed. The four truths are prescriptions for behavior rather than descriptions of reality. The Buddha compares himself to a doctor who offers a course of therapeutic treatment to heal one’s ills. To embark on such a therapy is not designed to bring one any closer to ‘the Truth’ but to enable one’s life to flourish here and now, hopefully leaving a legacy that will continue to have beneficial repercussions after one’s death. You said it, brother !!!

What an interesting day to hear Steven Batchelor speak on his take on secular buddhism.

The sun was hot, the sky was blue, I was wearing a monk’s hairdo.

Sitting in a buddha body, working on a buddha mind

To what affect is my relation with mankind ?

It occurs to me it matters not

The sky was blue, the sun was hot

I sit and think and hope to break through

I just wear a monks hairdo

“I’m at the point, that if I have to go to jail for my rights, I will do it,” she said. “If they really feel it’s necessary to throw me in jail for talking about what happened to me … as opposed to throwing these boys in jail for what they did to me, then I don’t understand justice.”
