Our Governor is going places.  He is a man of motion. Or at least a man who loves roads and loves being on the road. Since June, Louisiana Governor Bobby (Piyush) Jindal has traveled to Illinois, Utah, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Iowa and Florida to support Mitt Romney. Attending fundraisers, making speeches , shaking hands and kissing babies.

Jindal is among several GOP officials that toured Colorado on Thursday with the “Romney Bus.” Jindal hit  four events, including a rally and a barbecue in Colorado Springs with Romney supporters. In a CNN interview there, he was typical Piyush “”I really only got two problems with our president: number one is that he is the most liberal president since Jimmy Carter was in the White House. My second problem with him, is that he is the most incompetent president since Jimmy Carter was in the White House.”

Just a day before, he was in Monroe, La.  Announcing Roads in West Baton Rouge and Livingston parishes are set to be among the first beneficiaries of $150 million in rural road improvements that stem from the 2012 legislative session. The initial list includes 80 roads statewide that are ineligible for federal aid.

The spending relies on the State Highway Improvement Fund, which was set up in 2006 to help Louisiana’s 6,000 miles of roads that cannot get federal dollars. The 80 projects announced on Wednesday will cover about 360 miles of rural roads.  Man, roads are expensive.  Thats over 416 thousand dollars a mile.  No wonder “you didn’t build that.”

It is rumored that Gov. Jindal is on the short list to be Romney’s V.P., but I cant see it. Louisiana is a red state that Romney will win in a landslide. Louisiana has only 8 electorial college votes ( 1 vote  less than in 2008, How did that happen when our population INCREASED ?) It’s  fairly obvious Jindal adds an element of ethnicity to a Romney  campaign mindful of such optics. Jindal is there for “color commentary”, imo.

Bobby Jindal talking about roads and seemingly being constantly “on the road”  reminds me another Bob.  He and his side kick bing were always “on the road” to somewhere.
