Our  western  model of existence is architectural. That is to say a construct.

As one understands an operation of a machine by analysis of its parts, we try to dissect the parts  of  our existence into a point instance. Starting from our position or point of reference and working out.

We reduce these things into bits, into bites of thoughts. We describe the universe in snippets. One obvious limitation is our perception can only be as useful as it’s ability to perceive.

There are things known and there are things unknown, and in between are the narrow doors of perception

“Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.”
―     Alan Wilson Watts

“You and I are all as much continuous with the physical universe as a wave is continuous with the ocean.”

Storms from the gulf

Changed his plans

Storms in the life

of one simple man

Then so it came to pass

When the crap hit the fan

 Out the door he went

With his hat in his hand

He drove thousands of miles

Maybe regretted the first few

Then the pain gave way to excitement

With the chance to start the world new

In a small mountain town

He knows the challenge and the cost

He has chosen to live on purpose

“Not all those who wander are lost”

Thanks to my friends in Craig, Colorado

Your kindness , a gift to cherish

Your council and camaraderie during a very difficult process , a blessing

Henry Ford said “Life is a series of experiences, each of which makes us bigger, even though it is hard to realize this. For the world was built to develop character, and we must learn that the setbacks and grieves which we endure help us in our marching onward.”

You have helped me “March Onward”

It’s  also well documented that Life is a series of meetings and partings, of comings and goings. People come into your life everyday, you say good morning, you say good evening, some stay for a few minutes, some stay for a few months, some a year, others a whole lifetime. No matter who it is, you meet and then you part.

As so it’s the way today. We part.

I thank the hands of fate and the coordinator of the cosmos that “of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world” I walked into yours.

This is fascinating!  Researchers at The University of Auckland anticipate the number  of Earth like planets in the milky way Galaxy to be about 100 billion!  Astronomers think that there are hundreds of billions  of galaxies  in the universe, however the exact number is not known. In  just one image for example, the Hubble Ultra Deep Field, finds there are about  10,000 galaxies visible. The most current estimates guess that there are 100 to 200 billion galaxies in  the Universe, each of which has hundreds of billions of stars. Extrapolating the numbers , the possible # of habitable planets is mind blowing.

“Our proposal is to measure the number of Earth-mass planets orbiting stars at distances typically twice the Sun-Earth distance. Our planets will therefore be cooler than the Earth. By interpolating between the Kepler and MOA results, we should get a good estimate of the number of Earth-like, habitable planets in the Galaxy. We anticipate a number in the order of 100 billion.”
